COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to develop and implement employability skills.  These skills include dressing for the job, safety on the job and attending to tasks.  These skills are taught in the classroom as well as a job-site.  This course is designed to prepare students to meet their post secondary goals and to transition to post secondary employment.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
To introduce students to the importance of safety on the job.
To introduce students to completing job applications.
To introduce students to the importance of appearance in job interviews and job retention.
To introduce students to the importance of positive attitudes in keeping a job.
TEXTBOOKS
None.  Assessment check lists are designed to provide a comprehensive instructional approach to employability skills, work maturity, life skills, at-risk skills and healthy lifestyles.  The instruction will take place at a job site within the community.
GRADING
All work will be completed on the job site.  Students will be graded using checklists identifying appropriate employment skills.
