2-1-1 Help Center



Service:  Connects people and services. Easy to use phone numbers staffed by trained professionals. 2-1-1 is connected to nearly every service in the state including government agencies, food pantries, career service, after-school programs, counseling services, and many other state and local resources. Callers are referred to the appropriate place in their community to get the help they need.

Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Eligibility: Any person in Texas seeking information or assistance in finding where to get help; case managers, clergy, employers, teachers and other agencies calling on behalf of a client, member, employee, or student.

Fees:  None; services are free, gratis

Intake Procedure:  Call 2-1-1 anytime. Not for life-threatening medical, police and fire emergencies. If you have an immediate crisis, call 911.

Other:  Program of the Texas Health and Human Services and Commission in collaboration with the El Paso City-County Health Environmental District.
